Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Ensemble - Free Concert

Join the Pittsburgh Symphony Chamber Ensemble as members of the PSO perform a lively concert of Igor Stravinsky's delightful L'Histoire du Soldat (A Soldiers Tale) and Piazzolla tangos. PSO members are Dennis O'Boyle, violin; John Moore, bass; Ronald Samuels, clarinet; David Sogg, bassoon; Neal Berntsen, trumpet; Peter Sullivan, trombone; and Jeremy Branson, percussion. The concert is on Tuesday, January 31st at 7:30 pm in the Braddock Carnegie Library’s Music Hall (entrance located on Parker Avenue) and there is no charge for admission. The Braddock Carnegie Arts Program, a program of the Braddock Carnegie Library,

offers ceramic, screen printing, & music workshops, open studio, lessons and more. All donations received during Pittsburgh Is Art Day of Giving will be used to grow the art programs.

Giving Guidelines

* Between 12 am-11:59 pm on May 11, 2011visit www.PittsburghGives.org.

* Select Braddock Carnegie Arts Program from the list of eligible organizations.

* Using a Visa or Mastercard, enter your donation amount. Only donations made using Visa/Mastercard – minimum $15, maximum $10,000 - will be eligible for matching funds

5th Annual Chili Cook-Off

Location: 424 Library St. Braddock, PA 15104 (The Braddock Elks Club)

Throw on your apron and get out your ladle, because it's almost time for the Braddock Carnegie Arts Program's 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off! Enjoy home-cooked food, good company, and live entertainment by DJ Mary Mack. Submit your own chili to be judged, or come to sample a variety of chili recipes using a handmade ceramic bowl created in the Braddock Carnegie Library’s own ceramic studio. Winning chili recipes will receive prizes, and all guests will be eligible for great raffle prizes.

All proceeds will go towards the Braddock Carnegie Arts Program (BCAP) a program under the Braddock Carnegie Library Association. BCAP sponsors art classes, workshops, and open studio for children and adults. We strive to provide our children’s programming at no cost to participants and have worked with over 300 children!

Line Dancing at the Library!

Every other Saturday starting January 15th we will be having FREE Line Dancing classes from 10:00-11:30am at the Library. The classes will be held in the Library Gym and are hosted by Steps to a Healthy Community, Center for Healthy Hearts and Souls, and the Braddock Carnegie Library.

Learn about innovative ways to recycle in your community!
The Braddock Carnegie Library is partnering with GTECH, Fossil Free Fuels, and A Second Life Computer Remanufactoring to learn about ways to recycle.
Workshops on Saturday, November 20th from 12:00-3:00pm in the Rotary room. Computer parts and accessories will be recycled for FREE!

Volunteers of the Braddock Carnegie Library have organized a bake sale to be held on the afternoon of Saturday or October 24th. The event will run from 12PM-4PM.

Items available include cookies, pies, brownies, chocolate candies, brittle, and hot beverages. The used book sale area will also be open for business during the bake sale. Come purchase some goodies and support the library!
